This Cookie and Tracking Policy explains how Tradioo uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website (tradiooapp.com.au) and within the Tradioo app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy at tradiooapp.com.au/privacy.

Australia does not have a mandatory cookie consent regime like the EU's GDPR. However, where tracking technologies collect personal information, we handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we use and why

We use three categories of tracking technology:

Strictly necessary: Authentication tokens, session management, and security tokens that keep you logged in and the app functioning. These cannot be disabled without breaking the app.
Analytics and error monitoring: We use PostHog and Sentry to understand how the app is used and to diagnose and fix errors. This helps us improve performance and fix bugs. Data collected is used internally only — we do not sell it.
Subscription and billing state: We use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status and in-app purchase entitlements. This is required to deliver your paid plan.
Marketing and advertising: We do not currently use any advertising or marketing tracking technologies. If this changes, we will advise users accordingly.

All third-party providers are subject to data processing agreements requiring them to handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.

Mobile app — SDK equivalents

Our app does not use browser cookies. Instead we use mobile SDK equivalents:

PostHog SDK — captures user interaction events (screen views, feature usage) for product analytics
Sentry SDK — captures crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics
RevenueCat SDK — manages subscription entitlements and in-app purchase state
Device local storage — stores authentication tokens and user preferences securely on your device; not transmitted to third parties except as needed to provide the service
Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) — an Apple-assigned identifier unique to our app on your device, used for analytics and error monitoring
Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — we will only access your IDFA with your explicit permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you decline, we will not access it and core app features are unaffected.

Your choices

iOS App Tracking Transparency: When prompted by iOS, you can allow or decline app tracking. You can change this at any time: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
PostHog opt-out: Contact us at privacy@tradiooapp.com.au to opt out of PostHog analytics. We will implement your preference in our configuration.
Sentry: Sentry error reporting is essential for diagnosing crashes and keeping the app stable. It cannot be fully opted out of without impacting our ability to support you.
RevenueCat: Subscription data processed by RevenueCat is necessary to deliver your paid plan and cannot be opted out of while you hold a subscription.
Uninstalling the app: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device. It does not delete your account or server-side data. To request full account deletion, refer to our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy when we change our technology stack or when the law requires it. Material changes will be notified via the app or by email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
